A supervisor for the now defunct political advocacy group the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, has entered into a plea bargain with prosecutors in a case alleging that canvassers were illegally paid to register Nevada voters during the 2008 presidential campaign. Amy Busefink, 28, pleaded no-contest in a Nevada court to two misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters. A cameraman was caught with some creepy video footage. The man was surreptitiously videotaping female feet in the science library at University of California, Santa Cruz, campus police said. "Officers indicated he was embarrassed by his behavior," university spokesman Jim Burns said Monday. "He offered no resistance to the request that he leave immediately and indicated he would not be back." It's not illegal to videotape feet so no charges were filed. The name of the man, who was in his 40s and had no affiliation with the university, wasn't disclosed. He was banned from the campus for two weeks....

A school resource officer arrested an 11-year-old Rawlinson Road Middle School student Wednesday after the boy went to school with 10 nails in his pocket. The boy produced the three-and-a-half-inch-long nails after Dianne McCray, the school's assistant principal, asked about a jingling sound in his right pocket. This X-ray image shows the four inch nail that a construction worker from Colorado., accidentally fired through his mouth and into his head with a nail gun on Jan. 6. The worker didn't realize what had happened, though the nail plunged 1 1/2 inches into his brain. Six days later he went to the dentist for what he thought was a toothache, and the X-ray revealed the nail. He is expected to be released from the hospital Jan. 20. He is uninsured and is unsure how he will pay his 100,000-plus medical bill.
